It is not an emergency MEDICAL situation, but it can be categorized as a DENTAL emergency if you are in pain. If the pain is severe, try your own dentist first for an emergency appointment. He/she can prescribe pain killers and antibiotics to tide you over until the inflammation/infection subsides enough to give you treatment. If you do not have a dentist or cannot get an emergency appointment, call the 111 number. They will have details of which dentists are available in your area for NHS emergency treatment.

Is this acceptable to fill NHS emergency time with? YES! You really shouldn't have been playing with the infected area but this could defiantly be classed as an emergency. You shouldn't wait until Monday,it will only get worse.

Are there any dental schools other than UOP where you can become a dentist in less than 8 years?
I'm pretty sure the 8 years includes a specialty. I think it depends on what type of dentistry you want to do. Look into it a little more. I'm sure there are other schools set up the same way.

Im looking to get teeth plants for my father.?
Chronic pain from teeth is terrible. Your poor father. Listen, no one can afford $50,000. Get a good oral surgeon or dentist, and discuss having several teeth extracted. Get set up with a couple of good implants. At least 2 good ones on the bottom for sure. Then get him a partial lower denture...

Dentistry in Mexico is cheaper.?
Yes, cheaper in Mexico, but you cannot guarantee the quality of service and who knows what quality material you'll get ! Canada should be okay.

I live in central NJ are there "low income" dentists?
My best suggestion is to try the dental school at UMDNJ. They have need-based/income based fees, and you get the benefit of work done under the eyes of a top dentist. I don't know if RWJ or any of the New Brunswick-area hospitals do this, or if Newark is the only option.
