Composite dental filling material (ie tooth colored) has ingredients that are derived from BPA but does not have BPA in it. Therefore the exposure to BPA from composite is minimal. As previously answered, silver-mercury amalgam is also a reasonable alternative. The most inert materials are gold or porcelain. However, there is much more work involved and the fee is much greater. Gold and porcelain are usually used for large restorations that require much more strength and durability.
